A lady without perfectly done nails is not really giving off ladylike vibes. As body language and the way we use our hands are very important in everyday communication, a great manicure can really make a statement. Hence, the need to take some time and give yourself the relaxing gift of a manicure. And if you are too busy to hop off to the nearest beauty salon, here is a tutorial on how to do it at home. You need a nail kit of products, preferably made with natural/organic ingredients so you can be sure you are giving them a really healthy spa treatment. Red nails, here we come!

Products you will need:

• Buffer – Jessica 3-way Buffer

*I decided to use the products from Jessica Nails as they are 7-free: NO Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, DBP, Camphor, Xylene or Ethyl Tosylamide in the formula. Also, they are Vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.
Red Nails Manicure | Step 1
Soak the nails in lukewarm water for 2 minutes and use a gentle brush to clean them and soften the cuticles. Pat them dry with a towel and check their condition and shape.

Red Nails Manicure | Step 2

Use a 3-way buffer to shape your nails the way you like it. The most popular trends right now are the oval and almond-shaped nails. The Round and the square-shaped are just behind the first two, so it is up to you to choose which type you prefer. Remember to file from left to centre and right to centre and always avoid the “sawing” movement as filing the nails in this way will create heat and will dry the nail at the tip making it separate into layers.

Apply some drops of the intensive moisturiser – the Phenomen Oil to each of the nails. It will condition and soften the cuticles and heal and hydrate the nails. To boost the effect you can even massage firmly into the cuticles with the fingertips in an upward motion.

Red Nails Manicure | Step 4
Apply some of the Therapeutic Cuticle Formula which will condition the skin and melt into it. As it contains zinc it can help shrink back the cuticles and promote the healing of cuts or painful hangnails.

Red Nails Manicure | Step 5
Massage the hands along with the nails to perfectly blend the formula in the skin and then put the hands in cotton mittens for several minutes (5-10 minutes) for the ingredients to take full effect. After you take the hands out of the mittens, you can feel how soft they are.

Red Nails Manicure | Step 6
Choose your favourite red shade form the vast range of the Jessica Nail Polishes and start by applying one thin layer on each of the nails. Once you finish with the first layer, repeat the action as the 2 layers of colour will make the effect be much more intense. This particular nail polish has a gel-like shine so you won’t need to finish it with a top coat. However, if you want to make sure that the polish will stay for a prolonged period you can use a top coat. Also, there is no need to use UV light to dry the nails as the nail polish dries quickly in natural light and removes effortlessly with a normal polish remover.
